An Overview of Aqaba University of Technology




Aqaba University of Technology (AUT) is the first and only private university in the southern region of Jordan. As of October 2024, the university serves 2,016 students, supported by 98 academic staff and 94 administrative personnel. AUT comprises seven faculties offering 13 undergraduate degree programs. These faculties include:
– Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences
– Faculty of Arts and Sciences
– Faculty of Information Technology
– Munib and Angela Masri Faculty of Engineering
– Michael Sayegh Faculty of Pharmacy
– Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences
– Faculty of Law
In October 2023, the university introduced its first postgraduate program, a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Intelligence, followed by its second Master’s program in Pharmaceutical Sciences in October 2024. The university spans 180 acres on the picturesque southern coastline of Aqaba.
AUT was established with the vision that higher education should empower students at all stages of life and across diverse fields of study. As the first private university in southern Jordan, AUT aspires to be a distinguished and attractive destination for students from Jordan and across the region. Since welcoming its inaugural cohort in the academic year 2015/2016, AUT has steadily expanded its faculties and programs, including pharmacy, information technology, and business administration. Despite challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the university implemented robust health and safety measures to protect its community. In the aftermath of the pandemic, AUT developed a strategic plan to enhance its academic offerings and attract students from both local and international markets.
