Prof. Dr. Blerta Perolli Shehu

Ass. Prof. Dr. Blerta Perolli Shehu has been a faculty member at the University of Prishtina since 2006. She earned her Ph.D. in Psychology from Clemson University in the United States, with a research focus on the impact of social competencies and attitudes toward school on children’s academic performance. Her primary area of expertise encompasses typical and atypical early childhood development, early intervention strategies, and inclusive education. With over 20 years of experience, she has worked extensively with marginalized children and in the field of child protection in Kosovo—contributing to the development of legislation and social and educational policies, as well as designing, managing, and implementing community programs for marginalized children. Dr. Perolli Shehu also has extensive international experience as an expert in evaluating the impact of education, health, and social protection programs. She is a certified REBT psychotherapist by the Albert Ellis European Institute and holds a teaching certification in higher education from the University of Bedfordshire, UK. From 2017 to 2020, she served as the Coordinator for Academic Development and, for two years, led the Institute for Research and Development in Education at the Faculty of Education. Between 2020 and 2024, she held the position of Vice Dean for Academic Affairs – Master’s Studies. Since October 2024, she is the Vice Dean for Research and Development at the Faculty of Education University of Prishtina.
